Getting started

I first wanted to learn how to sew, but of course I was not going to be able to pay for classes. So, I hit a few garage sales and found me a sewing machine, It was not the best looking one but it worked. It took me a several tries to figure out how the thread and needle go but I kinda got it going and It was a little frustrating not being able to do a straight line; so I used a pencil to trace a faint line and followed it, it really healped. I had some fabric from the same garage sale, so I only needed a pattern or idea. I went to walmart and ended up buying more cheap fabric and a pattern. The pattern was easy to follow, I also read online about tension, so the fabric wouldn't gathered and looked like shirred fabric or so.
I wasted a few yarns of fabric and gave up a couple times but kept going back, until I was able to make something that would actually not shoke my little girl.
After learning how to sew, I wanted to learn how to make beaty products such as lotions, soaps, masks, etc...
There are so many resources outthere that I was amazed of how easy it was layed out for me.
I started looking into natural, organic and effective ingredients to help with skin discolorations, aging and other skin conditions. I think the first site I visited was activeingredients.com they have all kids of ingredients, recipes and feedback from other people as well as very good information, but some biased of course, so you really have to sift through all that. Another good source is garden of wisdom forum amongst others.
Once I got ingredients and stuff I started experimenting with them and of course researching them and making sure there were no side effects or other issues. At the same time my little girl Celeste had a terrible skin rash that had lasted for months, my little girls was itching so bad and scratching like crazy, so she was getting nasty sores that would bleed and leave ugly scars all over her legs, some on arms. We went to se 3 different dermatologist, tried all kind of antibiotics, creams, etc.. nothing would work, anyways I made her a lotion with ingredients that would target itchiness, wound healing and scarring, thank God it worked after only a few days her sores were gone and after 3 weeks she was wearing shorts and i could not see any scars. This episode made me feel more confident so I started making other types of lotions, I even sold them on Ebay and made decent money from doing so. I was able to get rid of all my age and acne spots, my skin hasn't looked so clear and healthy in years...
